Reymundo Mamani Apaza family has always raised alpacas in Bolivia's Apolobamba Cordillera. He has a front row seat to the effects of climate change on this region. Watering holes are further away, pasture land is harder to find. Summers are hotter. Winters are colder. Ice now covers the landscape for weeks. When it rains, it pours, eroding the top soil and perpetuing a continuing struggle. He doubts the industry will be around for the next generation.
